The plans for the home were drawn up by the builders. They knew the plan would work with the right combination and this appears to be it.

The home comes with a country rustic look that is very popular and includes brick, stone and timber. It is a rambler with a loft area over the garage.

The entry of the home rises up 13 feet. Immediately upon entering, there is a sitting room off to the left.

To make the walls have the old country-cottage look, they were painted and then coated with a glaze.

The light fixtures were selected to also look old and are very antique and dark. The floor is a distressed douglas fir made to look a hundred years old. There is a large stairway that leads to the basement. In the family room there is a concrete fireplace that has been painted, again, to look old.

All of the trim around the windows is antique and distressed alder. The ceilings in the family room are 25 feet high for a very open feeling. The kitchen is, indeed, a work of art.

The cabinets and island are distressed and some are painted green to get an old look. To get an old-looking hood, the builder came up with the idea to make it of concrete, then wrap it in aluminum foil and paint it.

Already, it has fooled a lot of people. The countertops were also made of poured concrete. The loft features a play room that resembles Noah’s ark, complete with dove, wood on the walls and a sky painting.

The master suite also comes with a fireplace with a mantle made from alder. There is also a walk-in closet with a granite island running down the center.
