2003 Park City Area Showcase of Homes to display area's finest

Local home builders, subcontractors and suppliers of the building industry will put their finest work on display during the 2003 Park City Area Showcase of Homes. The event, presented by the Park City Area Home Builders Association (PCAHBA), will showcase 18 homes with a combined estimated home and property value of more than $31 million. The public will be able to visit these homes during three consecutive weekends: Aug. 22-24, Aug. 29-Sept. 1 and Sept. 5-7. Each home will be open for self-guided tours from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. during these dates.
"This Showcase will be our best presentation to the public to date," says Raymond Montgomery of Mountain Express Mortgage. Montgomery is the 2003 Showcase of Homes Chair and also serves as the secretary/treasurer on the PCAHBA board of directors.

"These homes truly display the best craftsmanship and ideas in the homebuilding industry today."

This year's Showcase includes homes in the communities of Park City, Deer Valley, Heber City and Wanship. Several of the homes are located in such private, exclusive gated communities as Deer Crest, Glenwild, The Colony, and Promontory. Along with the high-end luxury homes, there is also a nice representation of more moderately priced homes which makes for a well-rounded Showcase.

Richard Jaffa of Jaffa Group Design/Build has entered his custom homes in the Park City Area Showcase since 1995.

"Not only does the Showcase of Homes help to promote my family business, being active in the local HBA chapter supports our industry and community," Jaffa notes. "People who come see this year's Showcase will be very impressed by the quality of the homes presented."

Also included in the Showcase of Homes are exhibitors in several entry homes. Subcontractors and suppliers will set up exhibitor space in the garage bays to display their products and services to the public.

"This provides an excellent opportunity for the public to ask questions about specific products they see in each of the houses," says Ennis Gibbs of Visual Imagery, a home theater supplier and specialist. "The Showcase allows the public to have a hands-on experience with our latest products."

Ticket holders will also have the chance to win a Grand Winter Getaway by entering their vote for the People's Choice Award. Ballots are available on the back of tickets or in the Showcase of Homes Magazine and ballot boxes are stationed at the front of each entry home. Two winners will receive a seven-night stay in a one-bedroom suite, complete with lift tickets, courtesy of the Grand Summit Resort and Conference Center at The Canyons.

Tickets and maps are available at all Smith's-Tix locations or on the Web at www.pcshowcaseofhomes.com. Prices are $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under. Tickets, magazines and maps are also available at each entry home during the Showcase.

The 2003 Showcase of Homes is sponsored by Glenwild, KSL 1160-AM, KUTV Channel 2, Newspaper Agency Corporation, Promontory, and the Grand Summit Resort Hotel and Conference Center.
