Welcome to our parade!
Being involved in the Cache Valley Parade of Homes has an amazing
way of connecting the efforts of the members of the Utah
Home Builders Association with your
dreams. The Utah Home Builders Association is comprised
of builders, subcontractors, suppliers and other related professionals dedicated to bettering their business and
the community around
them. As you pass through each home, diverse in décor
and layout, you will be able to take
the time to learn what makes a home a great investment
for your family and your money.
The Cache Valley Parade of Homes has become known as a ³livable² home
show, and with over 8,000 people from
varying stages of life envisioning themselves
in each home, it is no wonder that so many people look
forward to and enjoy the Parade of Homes.
I would personally like to thank the members of Utah Home
Builders Association and the time
and effort they have put into this non-profit organization.
Participating with them gives me pride in my own occupation and
in the members of our community. I would especially like
to thank our 2003 Parade of Homes
chairman, Darrell Simmons and his remarkable committee for
their countless hours of service for this great annual
event. I would also like to thank
the numerous sponsors who have contributed to better our show this year.
We know that as you come and enjoy the parade, you will
gain information and contacts to the
various businesses in the area that are dedicated to making better homes and neighborhoods for our community.
Enjoy the show!
Sincerely,
Dan Fuller

What A Great Event!
I have learned that in any great undertaking, it is not
enough for a man to depend simply
upon himself. This year¹s Parade of
Homes, like in years past, is the
cooperative undertaking of extremely talented builders, sub-contractors,
suppliers and committee members sharing their craftsmanship and professional experience to stage a great event.
The Northern Utah Homebuilders Association can be proud
of their builder members and affiliates.
Those attending the show should take time to inspect their
work, ask questions and become familiar with many of
the building professionals in Cache Valley.
Many local businesses are sponsoring the parade this
year by contributing prizes and
advertising. You will find interesting displays, have
the chance to win valuable prizes
and be able to vote for your favorite home in various categories.
Please take time to vote and increase your chances to
win one of the many valuable prizes.
The 2003 Parade of Homes committee has been an absolute
delight for me to work with and
really deserves ³all the good² credit
in administrating the parade. I
genuinely like these people, and I recommend that you
take some time to become acquainted
with their businesses and the services they offer. We have learned firsthand that ³to have a winner,
the team must have a
feeling of unity; every player must put the team first ahead
of personal glory.² ‹Paul
Bear Bryant. On a personal note, may I congratulate and
thank all of the committee members for a job well done!
Thanks again for every contribution made to the 2003
Cache Valley Parade of Homes.
We hope that you will enjoy the parade and spread the
word to your friends. Please buckle-up and drive safe.
Thanks for your support,
Darrell Simmons

Willow Park Education Building
NUHBA donates time, labor and materials to a Cache Valley
treasure.
Included in the mission statement of the Northern Utah
Home Builders
Association are several goals, one of which is to 'provide
public service to
the community.' The National Home Builders Association
also has a goal that
each local association give service to their communities
in a project titled
' Home Builders Care.'
As an association, we were looking for a project in which
we could give
service back to the community. The Zoo Education Building
in many ways fit
the bill just right. Roylan Croshaw of Croshaw Construction,
a member of the
association, found out about the project and discussed
it with the board of
directors and executive committee of the Northern Utah
Home Builders
Association. A commitment to support the project was agreed
upon. Although
construction has been slow because of some donated labor
and materials, the
building is progressing nicely and will be a beautiful
addition to the zoo
and the city.
Upon completion of the building, the zoo will have a facility
that will
serve as an educational and learning center to inform school
children and
adults of the life science of many animals. Another benefit
of the education
building is to enable the zoo to acquire many more species
of animals to
enhance the zoo itself.
Grant money and other funds, along with generous donations
from companies
and individuals, have made construction possible to this
point. Donations of
labor and/or materials have come from the following individuals
and
businesses:
- Croshaw Construction (Roylan Croshaw)
- LeGrand Johnson Construction Company
- Chris Mortensen Construction
- Bruce Hauser Plumbing and Heating
- Lawson/Yeates Plumbing Supply
- Choate Electrical Service
- David Grange Construction
- Lynn Hulme Construction
- Firelight Construction (Dan Fuller)
- Hickman Land Title (Deon Hunsaker)
- Stock Building Supply
- Millers¹ Northern Utah Glass
- Rocky Mountain Concrete Pumping
- Euclid Timber Frames
- Western Mechanical (Jack Egbert, Bruce Speth, Mike Egbert)
- Johnson Drywall (Rex Johnson)
- Logan City Light and Parks Department

A special thanks needs to be expressed to Rod Wilhelm
and Dale Ashcroft of
the Willow Park Zoo for their help and support.
Construction continues and completion is expected before
the end of the year. Many other
companies and individuals have expressed an interest
in contributing to this project,
and we look forward to their and others¹ support as well.
